This household appliance is one of the great forgotten items when it comes to cleaning the house, despite the large amount of residue that tends to accumulate in it.
For some people, household chores are one of the biggest headaches in everyday life. Depending on the room in the house in which we find ourselves, we can see how dirt finds refuge even in the most inhospitable corners, so cleaning regularly is one of the most advisable actions in these circumstances.
However, the room that ends up accumulating the most waste par excellence is, without a doubt, the kitchen. Due to the presence and preparation of the numerous foods found there on a daily basis, it is a breeding ground for all kinds of bacteria and unwanted agents. In this sense, one of the elements that is least often cleaned is the refrigerator.
Washing and disinfecting it is key to protecting the food inside it from possible contamination that could make it dangerous to consume. Although there are specific products for these situations, their chemical nature results in an odor that permeates the entire interior of the appliance. That is why home remedies are the best solution.
Spotless refrigerator
Before starting the cleaning process, it is advisable to turn off the refrigerator and empty its interior of all the food it contains. Once this is done, take half a cup of white vinegar and a cup of warm water, which, together with a soft scouring pad, should be spread over every inch of the appliance. If you have a spray bottle, the cleaning job will be much easier.
We should pay special attention to the inside, which can accumulate unpleasant odors from certain foods. If the above solution is not enough to eradicate it, we can use baking soda which, mixed with water, will eliminate any trace of it. If we don’t have any, lemon juice is an equally valid alternative.
Finally, we must not forget the door joints. They can be affected by mold, a result of humidity. In this case, we can resort to vinegar again, and using a toothbrush, rub the affected surface. If the stains are resistant, we will place a gauze with hydrogen peroxide on it for a couple of hours. After that, we will remove it and the mold will have disappeared.
