The South shore University Women’s Club is a woman based club and was founded in Saint-Lambert, Quebec, in 1957.
The Club is a member of the Canadian Federation of University Women, an organization committed to pursuing knowledge, promoting education, improving the status of women and human rights.
The members of the Club actively support these values through their involvement in their communities, their support of public education and of initiatives regarding the environment; and their efforts to raise the social, economic and political status of women and girls.
Over the past 60 years, the club actively worked for the
implementation of French Immersion in Saint Lambert in 1964.
