The advocacy committee of the SSUWC is very active in the areas relating to the environment and long-term care. We hope our policies and actions will encourage members to take action and will result in changes in our community.
We advocate through letter writing, petitions, meetings, social media, at the national, provincial, and local levels.
We also take actions to resolutions, presented by various Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW) affiliated clubs, at the national level.
The Club has a representative on the Quebec Council of University Women’s Clubs Advocacy Committee. Our advocacy actions regarding the improvement of long-term care will be coordinated through this group.
Every month, an environmental tip is presented to the members; our goal is to suggest ways members can reduce their environmental footprint.
